New Hair Regiment

Posted in Beauty with tags , on May 27, 2014 by Keona-Mlh aka Beauty by LTL

Oh my, it has been a long time. But I had to experiment with a few different hairstyle and products. Between me and my mother, we have hair products all over the place lol.  SO my bush is growing very ice and healthy, no breakage, no falling out so I am very happy about that.

What I do is after a shower, put in an oil (coconut oil for the summer), leave in conditioner, Marguerite’s Hair Cream and Carol’s Daughter Smoothing Curl Control. I think that is the right name,  I will check and update it later if I am wrong. But what I do know which has to be done (because a wash and go is not my friend at all!), is to keep my hair in two strand twit. It take a little over an hour almost an hour and a half for me to do it, because i have A LOT of hair, and my arms get tired lol. But it i so worth it. It will last about a week twisted up and then I will pick apart the twists to let the curls go free for another week. My hair is about four inches long and I am enjoying the length. I can put it in a ponytail and I have yet to flat iron it out to see how long it is straight. But I will. Soon lol.

Hair Woes

I have the thickest hair in the world. I swear I break metal cons going through this shit. During the summer I wear my hair natural, doing my little natural routine. It’s easier, and let’s face it. It is to fucking hit to be wearing a damn weave. I don’t see how these chicks weave it out during the summer. Fuck that lol. Though my hair is growing it still gets to the point where, when I wake up I automatically have a faux hawk lol. My husband just laughs. I’m like go to hell lol. I have the most hair in the middle, always giving me a point or some shit. But it’s starting to get to the point, where by next summer I can do my gel twists, flat twist and all my cooky designs I did back in 08.

But once summer is over this chick is getting weaved out lol. It protects the hair from everyday wear and tear and from environmental damage. However I love my edges and actually wear a wig in between weaves. I have seen to many black women with no edges because their weave is to tight. Just ridiculous. That and the fact that they don’t give their hair a break in between.

Next month I’m going to braid my hair, better yet let my mother braid it and sew my weave in. I have some wild colors that I’m going to use. Red, pink, and black lol. I may just do the pink and black. You will never see me was silk around with pink hair. It will be within and under the black. No ghetto shit here. But my colors I love. Always have to do a bright color with jet black, or a brownish black. I love the contrast. If I never went to cosmetology school I wouldn’t know the proper way to weave. The kitchen weaveologists are some bad chicks. It’s just not my cup of tea.

New Regiment

Posted in Beauty with tags , , , on July 28, 2013 by Keona-Mlh aka Beauty by LTL

So for about a little over a week now I have been doing a new hair and face regiment. I have seborhea dermatitis and that shit is itching as hell. Of course it respond to my stress levels which is so not cool.

So my mother gave me this stuff at home. I have so many products that I am always mixing and matching trying to find the perfect one.

So what I do is shampoo my hair twice or three times a week with the medicated shampoo the dermatologist gave me, then follow it up with my Fructis Shampoo and conditioner. After that I wrap an old shirt of my husband’s around my head and let it absorb what moisture it will without squeezing it. Or I will put a towel on my head and just wrap it around to get out the excess moisture. Then I will spray on Carols Daughters Black and Vanilla leave in conditioner and massage it through my thick hair. I will then put in an oil made of olive and jojoba. After that I take a nickel size amount of Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Cream Enhancing Smoothie w/coconut oil, silk protein & neem oil. It rehydrated my hair after the medicated shampoo and really does wonders for my little afro. I do that everyday.

I also take the medicated shampoo and use it as a face wash because my dermatitis is on my face as well. After I rinse my face off I put on some pure coconut oil and viola. My skin has looked better in a couple weeks than in the years of dealing with doctors.

I use coconut oil because I’m allergic to lavender. Which sucks because I can smell it, and drink it but not have it on me.

Either way I switch out the oils when I run out and I’m always making new products that are right for me so stick around for more info.
