I really walked that?

So I try to get healthier not skinny. I love my curves, I like my shape and getting better living my body. I just want to firm up, get my legs back in shape, tighten my arms and firm the booty, flatten the belly. Nothing more, nothing less. I don’t need to be a size 0 or an 8. He’ll, I’m a 16 and would love being back in a 12/14 again. Not looking to relive my military days, I was skinny enough back then.

So I walked two hours and fifteen minutes, from 50th street to 22nd street south. And back again. Pass the University of Penn, the college, hospital and the stadium. Pass Drexel University and 30th street station and back home again. Once I got to 39th street I’m like fuck it, let’s keeping going.

It was refreshing, and invigorating. I could do that twice a week for a long work out, and two other days a short walk, then the rest of the days I can stretch, do some other cardio and yoga work.

Note of course there is eating. Now I’m not going to lie, I tried vegan, vegetarian, and all those bogus ass “diets”. Then I realized, fuck that. I eat what I like how I like. So I was thinking that yesterday I made turkey tacos with corn tortillas, that today I would make baked potatoes with real bacon pieces, Chili, cheese with a side of turnip greens. I’m out of sour cream and chives so I have to do with out today. Not completely meatless but not slathered with tons of meat. I try to not drink sodas during the summer time so I have some sweet tea ready. He’ll if I had a beer or cooler it would be right with me, but not running to the store for that lol.

  1. It’s good that you have something to work towards. I use to work at a fitness facility so it makes me happy when people try to become healthy and stay at it. There are simple ways to change the way you eat for the better. A few of my suggestions are: Instead of sugar in your sweet tea, go for a “healthier” sweetener. Try Stevia. πŸ™‚ I’m a southern girl so I know its hard to live without my sweet tea! I recently switched to turkey bacon. I think it is so good and you can actually cook it in the microwave!!! Whoa! The best advice I will give you is eat healthy protein. I’m not talking about the yucky protein bars or the powders. I’m talking about the good stuff. Chicken, turkey, lean steaks, eggs, greek yogurt (if you normally don’t like yogurt, I suggest the blueberry, raspberry, and cherry because those fruits mask the taste best)… try using ground turkey or chicken in your chili if you use meat normally. Heck, any meal you usually would use ground beef for, switch it for one of those two. I use them with my hamburger helper. πŸ™‚ Never cut out carbs. Several diets tell you to, but I completely disagree. That will make you CRAZY! You just have to switch the carbs you eat to complex carbs. These digest slower and keep you fuller longer. My favs are…sweet potato, whole grain rice or bread, turnip greens (ur good there πŸ™‚ ), beans, oatmeal, apples cantaloupe, well…..I’ll just say this…try to go for whole grains in bread or pasta, eats fresh veggies, for your sweet tooth go for fresh fruits. Simple little things that can really make a difference. It looks like your off to a good start though. Just sharing my 2 cents worth. Good luck!

    • I LOVE Stevia. I have been using that for about a year now. Pretty good lol.

It’s pretty rare I have red meat in the house. I try to not buy it. Chicken, turkey, seafood and fish is what I try to stick to. I did make some tuna fish with boiled eggs in it. I love peanut butter. I dislike the diets that basically tell you to cut out good and drink and eat air lmao! I figure as long as I go for the healthier options I will be fine. πŸ™‚

I have a recipe for baked sweet potatoes that I’m dying to try.

Love the comment, making notes. Thanks a lot πŸ™‚
